Well, I guess it’s time to give a bit of an update. I’ll keep this short and go into detail in further posts. I’m getting my PhD tomorrow. My dissertation defense went as smoothly as they can go. The title is “The Rule of Three: Federal Courts and Prison Farms in the Post-Segregation South.”
And after two semesters of applying to dozens of positions, I have accepted an assistant professor position at Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota, specializing in US Legal and Constitutional History. I am very excited to join the faculty of Winona and begin the next phase of my life and career.
I will be teaching this summer at Ole Miss one last time, the second summer session to be more specific. I will be teaching History 321, US Legal/Constitutional History. It’s a lot to pack into one course, let alone four weeks. But it should be fun. Let’s just hope it makes.
